Should the flag it be up or the flag it be down
Either way you shouldn’t be acting the clown

There is a right to be free, and to protest a lot
But this darn stupid rioting has just got to stop

People are hurt and feeling distraught
But no right to riot has ever been taught

So how to stop this disgrace to our land?
One wonders if the Police have the power to hand

Do they need more, or should they have less?
Oh how, oh how do we clean up this mess?

There are three ways to solve this without feeling glum
The naughty step, the chokey or a severely smacked bum

To name and shame it is just a great bother
An ASBO today is like a medal of honour

So that choice is out, it just isnt enough
What else can we do that is a little more tough?

In the days of old, heads were stuck on a stick
would this stop the rioters and get it over with quick?

Some say we should use some big guns on a trailer
And trim the herd of the current big rioting failure

Another choice would be to send them to jail
But this costs a fortune and the law’s pretty frail

So what to be done? I know what to do!
The Queen sorts it out in a second or two!

She comes on TV and tell them all to go home
The flag flies when she wants, she’s the one on the throne

No more damage to the economy and stop going barmy
Otherwise she will get cross and put them all in the army

The threat of conscription, with blood, guts and gore
Would have those rioters running back through their door

Would this work? It would, and wouldn’t it be grand
To have the Queen telling off the rioters of the land

Be it by her majesty, a weapon, legal, or blend
This Northern Ireland embarrassment has just got to end.

You know that feeling
The one that you get
When you have something to do
But choose to forget

Its like that time each day
When you should go to bed
You find anything, something
To occ-u-py your head

The time it ticks on
And you find something new
Your wife is in bed
You start watching film two

Minutes they do pass fast
And you glance up, “oh brother”
Now its five to twelve
And you slip under the cover

I look our across the road of life,

Seeing it speed past.

But time passes slowly in my domain,

My own tiredness destined to reign.

 

An eternity in heaven,

With my soaring dreams,

I long for you to carry me home,

For me heaven is gone for a few tomorrows.
I climb every dune,

And sliding down the sand in my shoes

Feels like tingly hands

Caressing my aching soles.

 

Miss lover you are my real thing,

The light and sparks in my fire,

The only result of my search,

My fantasy.

 

Just one moment in my day

Takes me away to a place

So far away

In your heavenly space.
When you touch me

You take me apart

With the clouds in the sky

Make me feel so alive.

 

Just one look, I can see it in your eyes,

You are my love,

I lay back, close my eyes and fantasise,

A timeless night in heaven with you.

The almighty they, they plague my mind

The turmoil, the pleasure, the pain

Why can’t we all have the good

And return the kindness once bestowed upon us

 

Let us drift to sleep knowing we will awake

Refreshed, not taunted

Let the day pass with no stress or strain

Returning to home seeing no pain

 

Had I the power to prevent the bad

To change the past, and heal the wounds

To marshal the peace, and bar the unworthy

Would I?

 

Given the chance to reject the asylum

To kill the murderers, and empower the individual

To catch the thieves and punishment severe

Would the problem get better?

 

To remove Equal Opportunities,

So that all are equal,

Rather than a minority getting priority

I think I would

 

Why should one person decide?

Let us give the people the power

Electronic voting on ALL issues

The people decide, true democracy

 

All people having a unique Character Identity Card

Preventing fraud, promoting truth

Of what is there to be afraid

Unless you have something to hide

 

The country would rejoice

As the power returns to the people

The outsiders would fear

Our great country once more

 

Empowered

Prepared

Understanding

Equal

Morning bliss

The five minutes between

When you wake up

And when you get up

Encapsulated

The rapture of the bed

My mind like battle chess

My body quiescent

Wind in the window

It rattles like it’s possessed

The pitter patter of the rain

Makes me think of home

The alarm clock can snooze

To use – a dilemma

What is time but a passing

A fleeting moment in age

Worlds to overthrow

Battles to combat

Words to listen

New faces to remember

Vivid images of beauty

Crystal sky blue

Fields of green

A postcard I never received

To get out of bed

To summon up the demon of the cold

I grow weak and tired

But the dawn is calling my name

Everlasting hugs

Caress of a tireless lover

Gripping, wrapping, enveloping

Then heartache; and breakfast

Emotions they taunt me

During Sun and Moon

Kiss or Friends

Who can help me with this dilemma?

 

To do would be to cheat

To not would be to cheat my heart

A sunset watching the reducing light

A kiss of perfection as only on film

Or not, did anything happen?

My mind plays games, I awaken

I decide to follow my mind

 

My choice hurts in the short term

My life is better now the decision is made

Close friends, not enemies are we

Our emotions in check, but never forgotten.

Wake up in the morning,

The alarm clock beeps

Quietly wash n brush my hair,

Everyone else still sleeps.
Down the stairs – creakety, creak,

Into the kitchen below

Get a bowl and a spoon and anything else

My tummy knows what will follow.

 

Yum, Yum, Cereal and Toast

Washed down with pure orange or juice

Once that’s finished, back to the clothes

The newer trousers aren’t too loose.

 

Find a shirt and tie that match,

Its difficult to choose

Occasionally I go for red or green,

Today I wear the blues.
Pack the briefcase, remember the cards

Wear my coat and gloves if cold.

I leave the house an ten past eight,

The new sunlight resembles gold.
A fifteen minute leafy walk

I look forward to the day ahead

Although I like to be at work

I’d prefer to sleep in bed.
