It is interesting to note that when the tramway began it only had steam locomotives. In its final years the tramway ran entirely on electricity. Note that the electric cars also carried passengers and were often just passenger trailers with an engine fitted.

The tramway started out to have an extensive goods service and passenger service. However as years passed on the passenger service grew larger but the goods service got much smaller. Where possible goods wagons were converted to passenger use.
