What is an Information System? What do we mean?
An information system is simply making use of computers to share information between multiple persons and/or locations at the same time. We like to call our systems Information Management Systems, as opposed to their more common title "Management Information Systems". This is because we ensure that all the systems we create focus not only on producing good, up-to-date information for managers, but also for the normal workers. The systems all work on a multi-tier, database driven access control, nothing is hard-coded. This means that unlike the vast majority of other systems, you can have complete control over the access rights of every individual who accesses the system in a real-time way.
