Troston Mountain Climb

Since we fancied more of an adventure than climbing Knocklayd again, we are going to climb Troston (the highest mountain in County Antrim) on Friday 2nd June at 7:15pm. The climb from Troston goes from Ballyemon Road (B14) at the bridge (see map below).Richard and Patrick have cars departing from the scout hall in Ballintoy at 6:15pm with spaces for 6 additional people if parents do not wish to drive. We will collect telephone numbers and text parents when we are heading back from Troston with eta back to the scout hall. The climb is 2.5km each way, and we expect this to take 1.5 hours walking up and 1 hour down.Walking boots highly recommended as it will be wet underfoot after the rain today. Please ensure you bring a waterproof coat as well, remembering also that the temperature at the top of the mountain will be significantly cooler and windier than at the bottom.
