One of my very, very few annoyances when moving to the Mac platform was the lack of Calibri and Cambria font, so I did some research and found them after a lot of digging around. I decided to make them available for all those others who also were looking for them!

  1. I opened a spreadsheet file in Numbers earlier this evening and it reported that it had a problem with the font Calibri not being installed.

It let me substitute Ariel instead. It seems to work okay in this particular spreadsheet.

    1. Thats very strange – it always seems to work fine in all applications. I did wonder if there are other variations of the font (e.g. Calibri Bold etc) that I have not managed to get – I will go and investigate further! 🙂

  2. OMG thank you so much. My printer wasn’t printing capital A in Calibri, so I had to delete and reinstall your fonts then reset my computer, which worked!

  3. you’re a gift from god, a saint, the bees’ knees, the best thing since sliced bread; ty so much for these.

    1. Yep, very sure it works! Over 200,000 people have downloaded it and got it working so far!

It should install seamlessly on your Mac, showing the exact screens that I captured, then a re-boot and Calibri is in the font-list in all applications.

  4. It really works thank you! Now I do not need to use google docs or microsoft words online to have Calibri font anymore! Great!!! 🙂

  5. Thank you, I was doing a urgent print job and the customer never supplied the font, Thank you for sharing the fonts.
If you ever need urgent printing in Melbourne give me a call and I can help or send me an email.

  6. thanks a bunch. I’m editing a kids book/video and client said as close to Cabri as possible… and looky here… I can get the real thing. thanks Man!

  7. Thanks for these downloads Richard. 14.4Kbit modem! I remember when we had to connect using just a piece of string

  8. Thanks, but you do realise that it is illegal to use Calibri or Cambria in anything that is commercially printed? Microsoft has not ever licensed these fonts for anything other than use in their own programmes. It is perfectly legal to use them in PowerPoint, Word or Excel as none of these programmes was intended for commercial output. Using them for any printed material, other than that which might be used internally within a commercial enterprise, is not legal.

    1. Good to know – that isn’t something that was ever advertised anywhere! Im sure most people are just trying to find the fonts so that Word Documents that use them render as intended in Pages on the Mac! 🙂

  9. I have downloaded to my Mac, and it appears to let it install, but it is not actually installing them. Any ideas as to why it is not working? Thanks!

    1. No idea, sorry. I know that a few people have said that you need to restart your Mac, I have never found that I needed to do this. Have you checked the Fonts folder after installing to see if the font files are in there? I’ve not tested them on anything older than Mac Os X Mountain Lion, so no idea if they work on Snow Leopard or older.

  10. My wife always asks me to edit, or help with her documents in Word, but I’m a Mac person, and so there’s always the resultant confusion with “Why doesn’t this look like the document i produced?” This is my lifesaver! Thank You!

  11. Awesome of you to make these fonts available! I’m taking online classes at SNHU and they provide document templates in Word and PowerPoint. Every time I open their templates on my Mac it reminds me that I don’t have the Calibri font. Now I do…thanks to you!

  12. Thanks! Had the exact same feeling as you… Put up with substituting for a long time then finally decided to fix it. Googled it… Your’s was my first click, problem solved! Thanks loads!!

  13. I was so happy to have found this–thank you so much for doing this. An error message comes up saying there is something wrong with the file when I try to download. Has this happened before?

  14. thank you!! needed these specific fonts for a collaborative project, with your help had them in 1 minute flat. much appreciated!!

  15. Thank you so much! This font mismatch between PC and Mac has created so many problems in the 6 months since I left an institutional computer to work at home! Your hack will save so much time and frustration!
