The San Francisco font is the new font that Apple have developed for the Apple Watch. I’ve managed to find a copy eventually, so here it is, available to download for Mac!
Fonts included:
San Francisco Display Bold
San Francisco Display Medium
San Francisco Display Regular
San Francisco Display Thin
San Francisco Display Ultralight

To install, simply download, extract and double-click on each font and then click on the “Install Font” button to install.
Caution – for some reason unknown to me, when installing the display font, it has been set as default on my Mac as the font used in all menu’s etc. I’m looking in to why this might be, and how to change it back to what it was, more research needed!

Hi. Have you resolved as to why/how your default system font was changed over to San Francisco? More importantly, have you found a way to reverse it?
Hi Michael,
Sorry, I completely forgot that I should have updated the post with my findings on that one! Yes, to reverse it, you just delete the newly added fonts and then reboot the Mac, and it goes back to defaults.
The reason it changed the system fonts is because apparently Apple only designed the fonts to be used as System Fonts, not as normal fonts within documents. I’m still searching for a way to remove the system font requirement from the font files!
No worries, thanks for the quick reply. I stumbled on your page after looking for alternatives to Microsoft’s Cambria fonts, which led me to a discussion on Apple’s fonts, which led me to…
Wow, you’ve been online a long while. My first modem was a 56K. Ah, BBSes.
lol – yes indeed, online for what feels like forever! Ah the days of 1.5Kb/s downloads, and when making a single MP3 took 35 minutes!
I downloaded the font but it doesnt show up in all software…like I want to use it in photoshop, but its not showing. Does anyone know how to add it to photoshop. I even went into my libraries folder and tried to add it manually but still no luck Thanks
It certainly appears in Photoshop CC 2015 fonts list as I use it regularly. Could it be a quirk of an older version of Photoshop that doesn’t use the Mac’s own font library?
I have the same problem where this font is not showing up in any of my Adobe software. I am running the latest software of Creative Cloud 2015. When installing the font in Font Book it alerts me that the font has issues.
